A valuable source of income for composers, songwriters, musicians and singer/vocalists who are owners or part-owners of their composition is the use of their composition in a motion picture.
This seven page, nineteen clause music legal contract includes but is not limited to the following Clauses; territories licensed, royalties, synchronization rights, exhibition, reproduction rights for home use and arbitration.
This Agreement between the composition owner(s) and the Producer is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. The Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your unique situations and circumstances.

Herein this Agreement is between the above named and below signed Producer representing the above named Production Company (herein called the “Producer”) and the above named and below signed Composition Owner(s) (herein called the “Owner”), for the use of the above named Composition in the above named Motion Picture (herein called the “Picture”).
HENCE, in consideration of the promises, and of the mutual undertakings herein contained, and for other good and valuable considerations, the above named and below signed Owner and the above named and below signed Producer agree as follows:
1. The Owner hereby grants to the Producer her/his/their/its successors and assigns the non-exclusive Right, License, privilege and authority to record, dub and synchronize on film or videotape in each country of the above named Territories detailed in Appendix “A” attached hereto, the use of the Composition in synchronization or in timed-relation with the Motion Picture, but not otherwise, and to make copies of such records and import said recordings and/or copies thereof into any country throughout the Territories, and to exhibit, distribute, exploit, market and . . . continued
5. The Owner hereby grants to the Producer the non-exclusive Right and License to publicly perform for profit or non-profit and authorize others so to perform the Composition in the exhibition of the Motion Picture to audiences in motion picture theatres and other places of public entertainment where motion pictures are customarily exhibited in the above named Territories, including the Right to Televise, including via the Internet, the . . . continued
8. The Owner hereby grants to the Producer, in each country of the Territories, the non-exclusive Right to cause or authorize the fixing of the Composition embodied in the Motion Picture on audio-visual contrivances of the Motion Picture such as video cassettes, video tapes, video-records, Compact Discs, DVDs and similar compact audio-visual . . . continued
12. The recording and performing Rights hereinabove granted include such Rights for air, screen and television and Internet trailers solely for the advertising and exploitation of the Motion Picture. The Producer shall have the Right to utilize the Composition in advertisements . . . continued
