Elizabeth Taylor – Butterfield Eight – by Richard Bassett

In ‘Butterfield Eight’, Gloria Wondrous is a woman who flaunts convention and lives life on her own terms. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Very much like Dame Elizabeth Taylor. Again, viewing this film is a treat for everyone. It won Elizabeth Taylor her first Academy Award (1960) and her 4th consecutive Academy Award nomination. Gloria is a sexual being, no doubt, who allows herself to fall in love in this film. In real life, Elizabeth continues to speak about the importance of honest dialogue about HIV/AIDS…and sex. Transmission facts from fiction. I have tried to include some visual info on this very same thing in my video shorts. Feeling a bit uncomfortable talking about sex is much less important than obtaining the real truth about AIDS, how to prevent it and what to do if you do. Please donate if you can….and help save a life.
