Landlord of rent house says we can paint our rooms: Should I get this in writing to protect my deposit?

Question by yinyang_rocker: Landlord of rent house says we can paint our rooms: Should I get this in writing to protect my deposit?
I’m moving into a Rent house and the landlord says she would love it if we would paint our rooms (using good judgment of course). However, this is my first time renting and I’m a bit skeptical about just trusting someone simply because they said it was okay. I want to get this in writing and I was wondering if anyone knows of a sample format for such an agreement?

I don’t want the landlord to reimburse me, just to simply not take off money from my deposit when I decide to move away. Is there a generic contract/agreement/form that pertains to improvements on a Rent Home that are approved by the landlord? Anyone have any suggestions on points, stipulations, specifications, etc. to include if I can’t find a sample form and I have to write on myself? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you so much.

Probably wouldn’t be a problem anyway, but I’d ask for permission in writing.
