Music Industry?

Question by mike: Music Industry?
Hey,
My name’s Christian, and I’m 16 years old, I’ve been playing piano since I was 3 years old and guitar since i was 12 years old. As a result, I have my grade 8 piano certificate and am working on my 9th. I write my own music on guitar and also on piano with lyrics and vocals and everything and I was wondering if it would be worth sending my recorded songs to record companies or something to get insight etc. I’ve shown my songs to a few close friends who seem to like them but I want more than just my friends’ opinions and I want to get a record deal of some sort. Any ideas?

yeah man there are many things you can do. If you are interested in getting your songs in TV shows you can go to the writers gilt on sunset blvd. Also you can go online and copyright your stuff. its located in washington D.C. it cost $ 35.00 per song idea.
