As an independent band or independent singer/vocalist or independent musician you will be hired by a Recording Company to render your talents and services in the production of a recording.

This music contract Agreement between the independent Artist and the Producer is drafted in plain English that is easy to read and comprehend. This is an eleven page, thirty-five clause legal music contract Agreement.  The music contract Agreement may be filled in on your computer or printed out and filled in later. Signing this contract the independent Musician/Singer/Band is assigning any and all Rights to their work performance over to the Recording Company.

Boiler–plate clauses, amongst others in this music contract Agreement, include: confidentiality, exclusive commercial recording service, dismissal for drug/alcohol/illegal photographs/nuisance, rehearsal/recording times quality of service, compensation, distribution rights, non-performance of recordings covenant, rights assignment, artist promotional appearances and reversion etc. Your Lawyer will draft any and all other clauses for your Project’s unique situations and circumstances.

The Recording Company is a going concern which specializes in the management, recording, recording distribution and representation of musical artists. Be it known that the Recording Company is familiar with the musical skills, abilities and professionalism of the Artist and that the Recording Company has the business expertise, management ability, requisite music industry contacts, financial resources and desire to assist and promote the Artist in the furtherance of her/his/their career. HENCE, in consideration of the promises, and of the mutual undertakings herein contained, and for other good and valuable considerations, the above named and below signed Artist and the above named and below signed Recording Company Representative agree as follows: 1. The Recording Company hereby signs the Artist to a “commercial recording services” Contract for the purpose of making studio and/or live performance Recordings of her/his/their musical talents and services for commercial purposes, including but not limited to: phonographs, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and Internet Downloads and Recordings by any and all electronic means known now or in the future. 2. This agreement shall remain in effect from ___________________ 20 ___ until _____________________ 20___. During this period of time the Artist will, at mutually convenient times, attend, perform and record at the Recording . . . continued 5.
