Who are the best promotion companies to use when shopping an album to college radio?

Question by Taylorguitarguy: Who are the best promotion companies to use when shopping an album to college radio?
I am a musician in the process of recording my second album. When completed, I hope to achieve some airplay on college radio. I know that I have the best chance of getting airplay if I hire a promotion company to help me. The main companies that I have been looking at are Team Clermont, Fanatic, Planetary and AAM. I was wondering if there are any musicians out there who have used any of these companies to promote an album and who would give me an opinion on the job they did? Or, could any music directors, program directors, or DJ’s at college radio stations give me there opinions on which of these companies were the best, easiest and most professional to work with/deal with? There are so many companies out there, and I want to choose a reputable one. Thanks.

P.S. My music is in the style of Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Dispatch, etc. Maybe one of these companies is better when dealing with acoustic pop/rock?

You might want to contact the gang at newmusicweekly.com or FMQB.com. When I was working in radio promoters that were asssociated with both of the magazines would call me once or twice a week promoting independent artists. They were great to work with and also most likely help assure you that you could get some promotion in their magazines, too.
